Empties #6
29. maj 2015
Hello darlings! I have another empties post for you... and surprisingly most of the products I used up were hair products and unsurprisingly, skin care products. :) I have a bunch of favorites in this lot and a bunch of, shall we say... let downs.
I apologize in advance for the length of this post, I just really wanted to let you know my experience with these products since I haven't reviewed most of them... so the post is basically comprised of 'mini' reviews. :) Hope you find some of them helpful.
Redken Hair Cleansing Cream - This is a product I wanted to try for such a long time. As a girl with fine hair that gets oily super fast, I was searching for a product that would really cleanse my scalp/hair and get rid of all the grease and product build-up (at the time I used oils and silicon-based products quite regularly). I have to say I really liked this. It actually is a cream and not just a shampoo that's a bit more on the thick side. It has a lovely citrusy scent, feels really gentle on the hair yet gets is super clean and fresh. It is not your daily shampoo, it's meant to be used once a week or when needed, so that's how I used it and it worked great.
Repurchase: maybe (don't have the need for it now)
Redken All Soft duo - This duo was my first real try at Redken hair care and it did not disappoint. Both the shampoo and conditioner had a lovely (also citrusy scent) and a thick formula that felt super creamy and nourishing on the hair. The shampoo cleansed my hair with ease (even when it was super oily) yet didn't leave it feeling dry or stripped of all moisture. The conditoner was also amazing and the two together made my already soft hair fell even softer (if that's possible).
Repurchase: yes (but I'm currently in love with another duo)

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Milk shampoo and conditioner - I was looking for some new hair care products (shampoo-conditioner duos) after using up all of my beautiful Redken products (you know, us beauty bloggers just have to keep on testing new stuff). :) So... as I was browsing around BeautyBay I stumbled across this brand and remembered Mateja mentioning a product from them (I believe it was a leave-in treatment of some sort) and I thought I'd give the shampoo and conditioner a go. Both of them are marketed as being highly moisturizing and strengthening, but they did none of that for my hair. The shampoo as well as the conditioner had quite a light formula and felt really basic - like they were meant purely for cleansing and nothing more (I honestly felt like your run of the mill camomile or nettle shampoo would work just as well, if not better). The shampoo made my hair feel squeaky clean (which I'm not a fan of) and the conditioner really didn't do much conditioning. The scent was also pretty unappealing to my nose.
Repurchase: hell no!
Macadamia Natural Oil Flawless Cleansing Conditioner - This was an interesting product, one of those one-step or all in one products. It comes out like a mousse which you massage into wet hair, leave it in for a few minutes and rinse out. It actually did a great job at cleansing and conditioning my hair at the same time but I only used it when I was really in a hurry or when I just wanted to freshen up my hair. The downside was the scent - quite awful really, but it didn't linger on the hair for too long. It was a nice product, but I much rather do a proper shampoo+conditioner routine and use my Batiste dry shampoo on days when I don't want to wash my hair.
Repurchase: no
Batiste dry shampoo (Hershesons edition) - If you've been following my blog for some time now, then you probably already know I adore Batiste. It's a wonderful dry shampoo that actually makes your hair look instantly less oily and fresh and gives it a bit of volume as well, without leaving white residue all over. I've tried a bunch of their versions/scents and even though this Hershesons edition didn't have a special scent (it had the just their original scent), I had to get it because of the beautiful bottle. :)
Repurchase: yes, I already have backups in different scents
Dove Purely Pampering shower gel - I won't even go into much detail, because you should know by know that I adore these shower gels or rather, shower creams. They are super creamy and moisturzing and come in great scents that make showering even more pleasant.
Repurchase: of course
Subrina Strawberry Sorbet shower gel - I love the scents Subrina comes up with (especially their chocolate and oriental scents), but other than that, they're pretty much your average shower gels that do the job but don't do anything as far as moisturization goes.
Repurchase: no
Yves Rocher Jardins du Monde shower cream - I bought this purely for the amazing iced coffee scent. It had a lovely creamy formula and of course the scent, but other than that it was a pretty mediocre shower gel, nothing really moisturzing (it seems nothing can beat Dove shower creams). :)
Repurchase: no
Estee Lauder Sensuous - This was a gorgeous perfume (you can read more about it here) and I already got the bigger bottle. It's a great all year round perfume, but it's especially lovely in the spring/summer.
Repurchase: already have
Alverde Clear wash cream - A staple of mine. A lovely, gentle cleansing cream that isn't too drying. It's nothing special, but I like to use it with a gentle face brush when I'm under the shower. I switch between this and Neutrogena 2in1 wash and mask (though I kind of prefer the Neutrogena).
Repurchase: probably, maybe
Alverde Clear peeling mask - I bought this on a whim, decided to try out something other than the cleansing cream and I quite liked it. It's a pretty rough peeling, so I used it only a couple times a month but I did feel it helped with any breakouts I had going on or at least made my skin look better. :)
Repurchase: maybe
Green Line Natural Clear 4in1 - This is supposed to be a cleansing cream, a peeling/scrub, a mask and an antibacterial treatment in one (though the last one isn't really a 'product' per say). I only used it as a cleanser - as a cleansing cream and peeling in one (you can't really use it as a cleansing cream in a certain way and then as a peeling in another way) and it worked just fine. It wasn't too rough on the skin and it had a very cooling, refreshing feeling to it. I quite liked it, but it wasn't anything super miraculous.
Repurchase: no
Nuxe Reve de Miel hand cream - I got this cream as a part of a Nuxe set (along with the small bottle of the oil and the lip balm) and I was really happy with it. It smelled lovely and was super moisturizng. I used it every night before going to bed and my hands were very happy. :) I'm currently using some other hand creams, but I would definitely repurchase this.
Repurchase: yes
Alverde Deo roll-on (Mint&Bergamote) - I won't bore you with a simple thing as deodorant too much, but I do really like these roll-ons from Alverde and I've tried every single scent/version there is and loved all of them. I'm never without one, I just switch up the scents so I don't get bored. They are however super gentle and if you're a heavy sweater, they probably won't work for you.
Repurchase: always
Caudalie lip balm - This was also a part of a set, I really wouldn't go and purchase this on its own. It was a nice lip balm, had a lovely scent, but it was quite waxy and not super moisturzing... so, nothing special.
Repurchase: no
Antipodes Avocado Pear night cream - This was an absolutely divine face cream and I was super bummed when I ran out of it. It's very pricey but it's worth every penny. I has a lovely scent, a lovely and quite thick formula and makes my skin super happy. It helps noticeably with any breakouts and speeds the healing process like no other cream I ever tried. I'm currently using/testing some other creams plus summer is coming, so I won't be repurchasing this cream until fall/winter (full review here).
Repurchase: yes
Green Line HydroMineral (mixed and oily skin) - This cream was sent to me for review purposes and it really blew me away. I wasn't expecting much from in, but it worked beautifully for my skin and I would definitely repurchase it. If you want to know more about it, click here. :)
Repurchase: yes
Empties #5

Well, hello there my lovelies! Long time no write, again... When I posted the 'I'm pregnant' post, I was all for getting back into some serious blogging, but then pregnancy (i.e. my laziness) got in the way. No, but really... my pregnancy is going really well, but I am quite tired and hungry all the time (and sometimes in a bit of pain/discomfort), so I'm just not in the mood to write a bunch of blog posts. But no more I say! I really need to kick myself in the butt and be more productive... so here I go, with the first 'real' post after a long, long time - empties! ;)
So, since I haven't been a blogging for a while, these empties aren't fresh (I actually have a full box of new ones to share with you), but still... I thought they're worth mentioning. Plus I know I really love to read empties posts, so I hope you, my readers will also enjoy. :)
Fa Yogurt shower gel (Aloe Vera) - Meh is all I can really say about it. My mom bought it for me, so I used it up, but I'm really not a fan of Fa shower gels or Fa anything for that matter. This shower gel smelled nice, lathered well, but like most shower gels, it dried out my skin (Dove shower gels/creams are still the best).
Repurchase: NO
Johnson's Baby shampoo (Camomile) - While I wouldn't use this shampoo on a baby or myself (it's really not that gentle, I assure you), I use it to clean my makeup brushes and it does the job (but so will any other shampoo/soap).
Repurchase: MAYBE (still have a bit of it left in another bottle)
Batiste Dry Shampoo (Cherry) - As a dry shampoo I loved it, because I love Batiste dry shampoos and always have a bottle or two on hand, but the scent was really not my favorite. I'm not a fan of fruity scents, but I don't hate them either... this one however was a bit too sweet and too 'insulting' for my nose.
Repurchase: YES, but a different scent
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor - Miracle? I don't think so... I've mentioned this product in another post before - 'Products that were just a bit meh'. Now this wasn't terrible, it did nothing bad to my hair, but it also didn't do anything noticeably good or useful either. I didn't feel it deeply conditioned my hair or made it super soft and silky... and my hair really isn't that demanding. The scent was nice, kind of bubblegumy, but nothing that amazing that would persuade me to repurchase it.
Repurchase: NO
Prive Daily Conditioner - I bought this off of BeautyBay quite a while back (along with the shampoo that came in a smaller bottle). It had a thick, creammy consistency, a very gentle, natural scent and it did it's job. It just wasn't that amazing for me to repurchase it.
Repurchase: NO
Lush It's Raining Men - A gorgeous shower gel from Lush which I bought solely because the sales lady gave me a whiff of it and I fell in love with the scent. It's hard to describe it and I think a lot of people wouldn't like it, but I'm definitely not one of them. :) It's a sweet, honey, toffe-like scent with a lot of floraly goodness coming through. It was very creamy and not drying, which I love in a shower gel. I'm currently using up my big stack of shower gels, but I might repurchase it some time in the future.
Repurchase: MAYBE
Vichy Purete Thermale 3in1 - I love this stuff! I loved it so much, I used it up amazingly fast. I was in a good phase at the time - cleansing my face twice a day and this was the bomb! It's super gentle on the skin, has a lovely, subtle scent to it and a light, almost milky formula. It did a great job at removing makeup on the face, not so much on the eyes, but I didn't use as a makeup remover, I used it as a simple, gentle, no fuss cleanser. Great stuff... The whole Purete Thermale line has now been revamped and a bunch of new products have been added - some I've already had the pleasure of testing out, some I still intend to. :)
Repurchase: YES
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honey Drops body cream - This was a divine cream, but it took me forever to finish it (I'm super lazy when it comes to moisturizing my body). It had a lovely, fresh, green tea scent to it and tiny honey beads inside it which bursted when you pressed them on your skin. You can check out the full review I did on this cream - click! :) I'm interested in a different version of this cream - I think two more are available, a pink and a yellow, lavander and something else? But the more I search the internet the less I can find... I swear I saw different packaging/versions of this cream in one of our stores.
Repurchase: MAYBE
Caudalie Beauty Elixir - I got this mini sized bottle in a Caudalie try-me kit and I fell in love with it. It has a really fresh, almost minty scent to it and it immediately refreshes the skin when you use it (if you haven't heard of it yet, it's like a mist/toner for your face). I love using it after I cleanse my skin and before I put on a cream. I used up this little thing quite quickly and went ahead and purchased the full size as soon as I ran out. Love this stuff...
Repurchase: YES
Lush Rub Rub Rub - I got this quite a while ago, from a fellow Slovenian blogger, Nuša (Moonchild Beauty Blog). Unfortunately this did not work for me. It was quite rough (which I guess it's supposed to be since it's a scrub, but still...) and it dried out my skin. I was a real fan of the Afrodita's 100% Spa sugar scrub, which left my skin sooo moisturized... but this one was just meh.
Repurchase: NO
Afrodita Yogurt for face and body - I actually have a full review planned for this, so all I'm going to say for now is that it's a really nice product. :)
Repurchase: MAYBE
Cien Nail polish remover - This is not some super awesome nail polish remover, but I mostly repurchase it because it does it's job and I really like the dispenser (you push down on it with a cotton pad).
Repurchase: PROBABLY
Caudalie Vinosource face cream and Hand & Nail cream - I got these two in a try-me kit from Caudalie and it did like them, but they weren't anything to write home about. The face cream was nice, light and with a decent scent (not my favorite to be honest). The hand cream was also really nice, did it's job, but again... the scent wasn't really my cup of tea.
Repurchase: NO
Antipodes Joyful hand & body cream - This was a lovely cream! I used it for my hands only and it did a great job at moisturizing them. It also had a really lovely scent and I enjoyed the packaging as well. :) I got it as a gift when I purchased some other Antipodes products and thank god for that - I probably won't repurchase it purely because the price tag is insane (around 34 €). I mean I liked it, just not so much that I would spend a fortune on it...
Repurchase: sadly, NO
Lily Lolo mineral foundation (in Blondie) - I probably don't even have to say anything about this product. It's my holy grail foundation and I'm never without it. ;)
Repurchase: ALWAYS
Unique One All in one hair treatment - This was a sample I got at a local hair salon and I really enjoyed it. I ended up buying the coconut version, but used it only a couple of times so I gave it to my cousin. It's a nice, light treatment that doesn't weigh your hair down. It didn't do much for me as far as detangling goes and I can't say I noticed any huge difference in the appearance/feel of my hair.
Repurchase: NO
LipSmacker lip balm (in Raspberry) - A lovely lip balm, quite moisturzing, but nothing too exciting. I had it in my bag/pocket and used it up. Nothing more to say about that. :)
Repurchase: probably NO
Have you or would you try any of these products? What have you been using up lately? :)
Empties #4
17. julij 2014
Hello darlings! After quite some time, I've managed to use up a few more things and decided to show you my 'trash' before I threw it out. :) As per usual, I've mostly used up shower/bath/hair products and other skin care, but I've also managed to finish off a few pieces of makeup (would you believe that?).
I have been quite a bit better with my whole skin care routine lately and products just keep on heading to the 'empties' bin (or box should I say), so you can expect a new empties post quite soon. It's an awesome feeling when you finish off a product but since my skin care now consists mostly off high-end items, I'm kind of dreading the moment when I run out of something, because that means I need to go out and repurchase it. :) Anyhew... let's get to the empties, shall we?
Tresori d'Oriente Viola de Nepal shower gel/cream - I got this from my mom and I enjoyed using it. It looks beautiful and smells beautiful, but it's your average shower gel/cream and I much prefer richer/hydrating shower products. Repurchase: no
Nivea Frangipan&Oil shower gel - I bought this because it seemed pretty interesting, the formula I mean. It's basically a clear gel, but has little yellow beads inside that I guess are full of oil and meant to be nourishing on the skin? I don't know... but it wasn't really nourishing at all, a pretty average shower gel. Repurchase: no
Afrodita Jojoba Oil (with shea butter) oil shower gel - My cousin recommended this shower gel to me and I did end up really loving it. It smells amazing and it was pretty moisturizing on the skin. It wasn't quite as good as my favorite Dove shower creams, but close enough. Repurchase: probably yes
Avon Simply delicate intimate wash - I had this bottle for way too long and ended up tossing out what was left of it inside. It was an ok wash, nothing special, I much prefer Nivea's intimate washes. Repurchase: no
Lush I love juicy shampoo - This product is actually being featured for the second time already - I've mentioned it in my Empties #2 post as well (I used up a smaller bottle of it, before picking up this bigger one). It's an awesome shampoo, wonderful for oily hair, smells lovely and feels really creamy when you're massaging it into your scalp/hair. I'm currently using/testing out some other hair care products, but I might switch to this one again, we'll see. Repurchase: maybe
Prive Daily shampoo - This was quite a surprise. I ended up loving this shampoo (and conditioner) and I really wasn't expecting much from it. I found this brand on BeautyBay and decided to give it a go. It's a lovely natural shampoo with great ingredients. It smells very nice, gentle, foams up nicely and cleanses my hair with ease, without stripping them of moisture too much. As I've already mentioned with Lush's shampoo, I'm currently using some other hair care products, but I might come back to this one as well. Repurchase: maybe
Afrodita 100% SPA sugar scrub - An amazing body scrub that smells divine and leaves your skin moisturized and deeply nourished for a long time. It's quite a rough, sugar scrub, but nothing too harsh. I would repurchase it the second I ran out of it, but I have some other body scrubs to use up first: Repurchase: hell yeah!
La Roche-Posay Serozinc - I've finally used up my first bottle of Serozinc. I'm now on my second bottle and have another one as a backup - I don't know what I'm going to do when I use up the last one... Sanja was kind enough to have brought me 3 bottles from France and when I use them all up I have no idea where I'm going to get it from (I hope some other blogger/friend/acquaintance will go to France soon). :) Anyhew... this is a wonderful toner that really made a difference to my skin. It helps with tightening my pores and protecting my skin from bacteria and other nasty things that could invoke a breakout or allergic reaction. I love this thing! Repurchase: yes, of course!
Avon Planet Spa Turkish Thermal Baths face mask - A wonderful clay mask that smells absolutely divine! I loved using it and it made my skin feel incredibly soft after each use (along with all other benefits of clay masks as well). I would use it again, but I'm not sure if I'll be repurchasing it any time soon, since I have other face masks to use up and I very rarely order anything from Avon. Repurchase: maybe
Alverde Clear cleansing cream - I've gone through about 3 tubes of this cleansing cream I believe and I think I'll just keep up repurchasing it. I don't use it as my daily cleanser, it's my 'under-the-shower' cleanser. I use it with my face brush from L'Occitane, so I do a bit of scrubbing as well. I might switch it up with Neutrogena's Visibly Clear 2in1 cleanser when I run out of the tube I'm currently using. Repurchase: yes (I'm already using a new one)
Mario Badescu Almond&Honey non-abrasive face scrub - A lovely scrub that really is non-abrasive and smells lovely (a bit like candy, very sweet, but not sickening). I liked using it, but it didn't do much for my skin to be honest and I've now completely stopped using any kind of manual/mechanical scrubs for my face (I only use a face 'brush' from L'Occitane with a cleanser when I'm under the shower), I rather use acid based products for that, so I won't be repurchasing this product. Repurchase: no
Yves Rocher Cacao&Orange hand cream - This was a lovely hand cream I got back in December when I attended the Yves Rocher blogger event. The combination of cocoa and orange created a lovely scent and I really enjoyed using it. It was also very moisturizing but not heavy at all and it sank into my skin pretty fast. I would consider repurchasing it, but it was limited edition. Repurchase: no
Deep Steep Brown Sugar Vanilla hand cream - This was a cream I had a love-hate relationship with purely because of its scent. I absolutely loved and hated the scent at the same time. How's that you ask? Well, it had a really, really strong scent to it, like so strong I could smell it when it was closed and just lying there on my bedside table. It smelled really nice, very vanilla-like, sweet, but not too sweet. But when I applied it to my hands the scent was a bit overwhelming, a bit too much. It did tone down after a few minutes, but it was just a bit too strong for me. The cream itself was super nourishing and quite thick, so it did need a bit of time to really sink into my hands. I did enjoy using it, but I probably won't be repurchasing it. Repurchase: no
Alverde Deo Roll-on (Mango Papaya) - I've been using this deodorant for a couple of years now and I don't intend on stopping any time soon. They keep on coming out with new variations/fragrances and I keep on trying them out. Not one has been a let down, I love every single scent and I'm currently using the new Mint-Bergamot 'version'. I've also got my mom hooked on these, so we both always have a back up in our stash. :) Repurchase: hell yeah, always!
Sierra Bees lip balm - I got this little things as freebies when I placed some orders on iHerb and they were really nice. I wouldn't necessarily repurchase them, but I might get them, if I'll be ordering anything from iHerb again (which I will, soon enough). Repurchase: maybe
Lily Lolo mineral foundation (in Blondie) - Finally, hallelujah! I finished my first pot of this wonderful foundation. I think it took me around 3 years, can you imagine?! I think that's probably due to the fact that I really don't wear makeup that often or I would have used it up much sooner. I've also recently used up a tiny bit that was left in another pot Aida gave me and ordered a shiny new one in a shiny new packaging. Love this stuff! Repurchase: for sure!
Catrice Eyebrow filler (eyebrow gel) - This is my holy grail brow product and basically the only brow product I use. It's a tinted brow gel that comes in one, 'universal' shade that just seems to match my eyebrows perfectly (it's an ashy light brown color). It darkens my eyebrows a bit and gives them that bit of color they need, whilst also keeping them in shape. I've worn this all day, on super hot, sweaty days and it has not budged - no eyebrows melting off here! It's also very affordable, so you know, it's a win-win. Repurchase: of course, already using a new tube!
NYX HD Eyeshadow base - This is the best eyeshadow base/primer I have ever used, though... I have been using theBalm's Put a lid on it primer ever since this one ran out and I think I can say it works just as good. This one however is much cheaper than theBalm's, so when I ran out of later, I think I'll go back to NYX, but I love both the same. Repurchase: yes
Empties #3
10. april 2014
Hello hunnies! After a looooong time, I finally have another empties post for you. What can I say... I like to gather my empties and have a bigger 'pile' to show you at once, rather than show you bits and pieces I've used up, every month. And I just don't seem to use up that much makeup apparently... :) Anyhew, let's get down to business, shall we?
Liz Earle Cleanse&Polish - I think this is the third bottle I've used up. I just love this stuff so much. No other cleanser/makeup remover has gotten even close to this baby. Sure, there are other cleansers/makeup removers that do the job, but they just don't do it as good. Repurchase: of course, already have a new bottle and I also have the limited edition one (can't wait to use it)
Liz Earle Eyebright soothing eye lotion - An amazing eye lotion that works wonders for tired, puffy, irritated eyes and I've had those for a few months now. It's a real lifesaver I tell you. Repurchase: of course, I don't ever want to be without it
Liz Earle Instant Boost skin tonic - A lovely tonic that's gentle and smells so, so nice. It really does give your skin a little boost and prepares it for moisturizer. I also like to use this on it's own, throughout the day, if my skin needs a little 'pick me up'. :) Repurchase: yes indeed, love this stuff
L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 micellar solution - A nice micellar water/solution that does a great job at removing makeup and does not sting/irritate my eyes. I like it and I would repurchase it, but I've discovered the Garnier 'version' that has a bigger and better bottle for the same price. Repurchase: no
Yes to tomatoes Daily clarifying cleanser - A nice gel cleanser that smells wonderful, lathers/foams up nicely and does a great job at cleansing your skin, but it did leave my skin feeling a bit dry after each use and I really, really don't like that. Repurchase: no
Alverde Clear cleansing cream - Awesome stuff! A great, gentle cleansing cream that cleanses my skin without leaving it with a tight/dry feeling afterwards. It's so gentle I can even use it on my eyes and it doesn't irritate them one bit. The price is also amazing for such a great product. Repurchase: absolutely, time and time again
Antipodes Aura manuka honey mask - Gorgeous mask, very expensive, but so, so nice. :) It smells like a little piece of heaven and leaves your skin feeling like a million bucks. I actually had it for around 10 uses - I thought it wouldn't last me that long. Repurchase: definitely, when I have some extra money :)
100% Pure Honey&Virgin coconut restorative conditioner - A beautiful conditioner that smells divine and actually lingers on my hair for some time. It did a great job at moisturizing my hair. I do/I did prefer the older/previous version of it, but this one is awesome as well. Loved using it! Repurchase: maybe, currently testing out other conditioners
John Frieda Brilliant Brunette enhancing conditioner - A lovely drugstore condtioner that's a bit on the higher-end (I think it's around 8 € or something like that). It did a great job at moisturizing my hair and keeping them soft and shiny, but it wasn't anything special and it certianly did not enhance my brown locks (I'm more blond than brown, like a dark blond maybe and I hoped it would bring out the brown more - it didn't). Repurchase: no
Sanctum conditioner for normal hair - This was a bit of a let down. It was a nice conditioner but it just didn't do it for me - it was a bit on the thinner side. Sure, my hair was soft(er) after I used it, but that happens no matter what conditioner I use (I have naturally soft, silky hair). I just didn't feel it did anything for my hair really. Maybe the dry hair version is better. Repurchase: no
Batiste dry shampoo (in Original) - Amazing stuff, can't live without it! As a girl that has fine, soft hair with an oily scalp I need something to keep my hair looking decent on the days I don't wash them (I try not to wash my hair too often). It really absorbs the oils and makes the hair look fresh. And most importantly - it doesn't leave a white 'cast' on my hair and you can easily comb it out/through your hair. Repurchase: yup! I got the Cherry and the Oriental version
Dove Purely pampering CreamOil shower gel - Dove shower gels/oils/creams are just the best thing ever! I've tried numerous showering gels/products and none have come close to Dove's. They're just so darn creamy and moisturizing and I can get out of the shower without the 'my skin is too small for me' feeling. Repurchase: of course, I always have one or two of these in stock
Lush Retread conditioner - The lovely lady at Lush gave me a generous sample of this conditioner when I came to pick up my trusty I love Juicy shampoo and told her American Cream wasn't enough for my hair. Sadly, this was in the same category - it's just too thin and I don't really feel it does anything for my hair. Repurchase/purchase: no
Illamasqua Freak perfume - Can we just take a minute of silence, because I'm in mourning. I freaking love Freak and I'm so sad I've run out of it. It has become my signature scent and ever since I got it, I haven't used any other perfume - I've been using it nonstop for 3 months straight and my 30 ml bottle has finally come to an end. I'm definitely getting the full size next time, but I just don't have the money right now, so I'll be a good girl and use up some other perfumes I got and only then repurchase this baby again. It will be hard, but I must say goodbye to it for a little while... :( Repurchase: hell yeah!
Essence Nail polish remover - A nice nail polish remover, did a great job, had kind of an interesting scent to it, but all in all nothing special. I've been loving my Cien nail polish remover (from Lidl) lately, because it has a great dispenser so I'll probably just keep using this one. Repurchase: no
Maybelline One by One mascara - A great mascara, loved it! It has a plastic wand/bristles which separate your lashes whilst giving volume and length (I find most Maybelline mascaras are good at that) and most importantly - it doesn't irritate my eyes. Love the packaging as well. Repurcase: maybe, trying other mascaras out at the moment
e.l.f. Tone correcting concealer (in Rosy Beige) - A lovely, creamy, light concealer with a slightly illuminating affect to it and of course, tone correcting properties (it has a peachy undertone so it battles under eye circles). I love this concealer for under my eyes, but don't use for blemishes or other imperfections. It also smells nice, which is a plus for me. :) Repurchase: yes, already have

Hello my lovelies! It's been way too long since I last posted an empties post... I'll have to do better. But at least I've managed to use up quite a lot of things in this time (I think). Some products will probably be more interesting than others but hey, that's just what I've been using.
I'm really bummed I never have anything makeup related to show you - I would love to hit pan on something, finish a lipstick, use up a foundation... anything. I will try to do some more MU looks soon and maybe one of those things will happen. :)

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish hot cloth cleanser - I've finished another bottle of this amazing cleanser (I'm not sure, if this was the second or third bottle, I know a bottle lasts me quite a while). I just love this thing to pieces and can't imagine my life without it (dramatic, I know). Repurchase: already have, will never stop repurchasing probably :)
Equilibra Shea butter hand cream - I was sent this hand cream in exchange for a review and I've been loving it. It's a thick cream, deeply nourishing and has an awesome scent to it. Repurchase: I would, because it's a great hand cream, but the price tag is a bit too high
Alverde Deo Roll-on Soft (Aloe Vera, Pearl) - My 'standard' deodorant. I've been using it religiously for probably about 2 years, maybe even more. There are a few different versions/scents and I love them all. Repurchase: already have :)
Liz Earle Eye Bright Soothing eye lotion - An amazing product that really helps with tired, puffy, even sore eyes - it just calms and soothes everything, lovely lotion. Repurchase: already have (the big size)
Afrodita Oliva oil-base nail polish remover - A good nail polish remover, it's supposed to be more gentle and nourishing for the nails... I didn't notice a huge difference comparing it to other nail polishes I used. :) Repurchase: probably no
Lush I love juicy shampoo - An awesome shampoo for oilier hair. You would thing it would be really harsh and make your hair squeaky clean, but it's actually very rich and creamy, yet leaves your hair very clean. I love it! Repurchase: already have, the big (500 ml) bottle :)
Lush American Cream conditioner - This conditioner smells divine and the scent actually lingers on your hair for a long time, which I love... but it's not very rich, it is moisturizing and of course helps give back some moisture to the hair, makes it smoother and less tangled, yet I find it's just not enough for my hair. Repurchase: no (maybe sometime, just because it smells so nice)
Avon Advance Techniques Dry end serum - A lovely serum or should I say oil that does a great job at nourishing and protecting hair ends, yet does not make your hair look greasy/wet. I also tried the newer version of this - the Moroccan Argan oil and it's basically the same thing. Love them both. Repurchase: maybe, though I'm really happy with Orofluido at the moment :)
Bettina Barty Rice milk & Vanilla bath & shower gel - I think I got this gel as a present some time ago. I really enjoyed using it, it had a lovely scent and wasn't drying. Repurchase: probably no
Nivea Coconut cream shower cream - A lovely shower cream/gel, had a nice coconut scent (though a bit fake, I mean there are better coconut scents out there). It was nice and creamy, was not drying. Repurchase: maybe
Balea Young Sweet Wonderland shower gel - I bought this shower gel because it was kind of 'circling' around the blogger world and was supposed to smell great. I have to say I was pretty disappointed with it - it was quite drying and the scent was a bit too sweet, almost sickly (and I love sweet scents). Repurchase: a definite no!
Nivea In-shower body milk - Another hyped up product that I decided to try out. It had no effect on my skin whatsoever but ironically, the very last time I used it and emptied it out, I kind of had a feeling that my skin was a bit more soft and moisturized when I stepped out of the shower... weird. :) Repurchase: no
Subrina Cuba Libre shower gel - I bought this purely because I liked the scent. It has a great cuba libre/cola scent to it. Other than that it's nothing special, an ok shower gel. Repurchase: no
Garnier Ultra Doux Apricot and Almond extract conditioner - A conditioner my husband choose for himself and I ended up using it up... An ok conditioner, nothing special. Repurchase: no
Liz Earle Orange flower botanical body wash - I got this shower gel/wash for free with my last purchase at Liz Earle. I was very excited to try it out since none of Liz Earle products have disappointed me so far... but unfortunately this was the first disappointment. I has a lovely, orange flower scent to it that actually lingers on the skin for a while, but I found it to be quite drying and I really hate that with shower gels. Repurchase: no
Rexona Activshower Fresh mint shower gel - A gel my husband got in a gift set and started using but didn't like it because it had a bit of a cooling effect to it, so I ended up using it up. I quite liked it, it was very refreshing, but nothing special, maybe even a tad drying (I prefer creamier, oilier shower gels/creams). Repurchase: no
Listerine antibacterial mouth wash - I got the green version first (it was my first Listerine wash). When we used it up, my husband suggested we get the purple one and I have to say I prefer it over the green one. It's a great mouthwash that really 'disinfects' your mouth and burns like a mother. :) Repurchase: already have (the purple one and the biggest bottle they have)
So here you have them... my recent empties. Nothing too exciting but I thought I would show them to you anyway. :) What have you been using up lately?
Empties #1
2. avgust 2013
Hello my lovelies! Today I'll be posting another 'first' post for me, since I haven't done one like this before - empties. :) I always seem to throw things away when I use them up and forget to store them for posts like this. No more! From now on I'll be a good beauty blogger and save/store every single empty bottle, jar or any other kind of packaging. :D
Of course I haven't used up all these things in a month... this little pile has been slowly growing and now I decided to show it to you and let you know what my thoughts on each item were. So here we go...
Dove Cream oil - A lovely shower gel/cream. I find all Dove shower gels to be very rich, creamy and moisturizing. I love using them and I've tried a bunch of them so far. Repurchase: maybe not exactly this one, but other Dove shower gels - for sure :)
Syoss Volume Lift conditioner - There's not much to say about this conditioner. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great eater. It certainly didn't give my hair any volume. Repurchase: no
Dove Essential Nourishment hand cream - A lovely moisturizing cream. It sinks into the skin pretty fast and leaves your hands smooth and soft. Repurchase: have 2 more to use up (no, I didn't go out and buy 3 hand creams, I got them as gifts or in gift sets)
Avon Pomegranate and Mango face scrub - A nice scrub but nothing worth talking about. Repurchase: no
Avon Clearskin Blackhead clearing mask - A face mask targeting blackheads. It comes out blue but it dries to a white color - nice and fun but it does nothing about my blackheads. It also smells a little weird. Repurchase: no
Liz Earle Cleanse&Polish hot cloth cleanser - I've finished my first bottle of this amazing cleansing balm and I'm totally in love (as you all probably already know). An awesome cleansing balm that removes makeup with ease and leaves your skin beautiful. Repurchase: already did
Liz Earle Instant boost skin tonic - A wonderful toner that soothes the skin and smells divine. Repurchase: already did (the big 200 ml bottle)
Liz Earle Skin Repair moisturizer (normal/combination skin) - A gorgeous face cream. I wanted to try out this cream so I ordered the 'Try me kit' and got one tube extra so I really got to test it out. I love using it, it's a lovely cream on the thicker side but sinks into the skin really fast. Repurchase: already did (the 50 ml jar)
Ikove Acai face toner - A lovely toner with a beautiful scent. I used up two bottles and I would repurchase it but the shop I bought it in doesn't carry Ikove products anymore.
Prices Cinnamon candle - A lovely candle, if you like cinnamon (which I do). I would repurchase it but I've discovered Yankee candles and will be buying more of those in the near future. :)
Afrodita Oil nail polish remover - Just a regular nail polish remover, nothing special, does the job. Repurchase: maybe, probably not
Sophyto Omega daily moisturizer - A lovely face cream for normal/combination skin. Loved using it, my skin loved it, it didn't make me look shiny and it sunk into the skin really fast. Would repurchase it but found some better face creams. :)
Green People Fruitful nights moisturizer - A night face cream, really nice, lovely fruity smell. Loved using it and my skin really liked it. Would repurchase it but I found some better face creams.
Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra curl mascara - Didn't really use up this mascara, but it dried up and it was irritating my eyes so I stopped using it. Repurchase: no
