Hello hunnies! Today I'd like to talk to you about an event I attended a few weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to get invited to a beautiful La Roche-Posay event. If you're not familiar with the brand, you should be. :) It's a french pharmacy brand that covers a wide range of skin conditions/problems and even offers products for babies/children. Until the event I haven't tried a lot of their products (only one to be exact) but I was familiar with the brand. I don't know why I always thought of the brand as a high-end, expensive one - it's really not, it's actually pretty affordable. :)

The event was held in the stunning hotel Plaza that is located right next to City Park and BTC (our two largest shopping centers in Ljubljana). It's a stunning, luxurious hotel so I felt really important being invited to a place like that. Everything was just so posh and fancy... :)
The first blogger I met up with was the lovely Gita (from ODDS&ENDS). We met a bit earlier so we would have time to chat and get to know each other (we haven't met in person yet). We clicked right away and started talking about.... yes, you've guessed it - makeup. :) Soon after that we were joined by the rest of our blogger 'team' - Živa, Tina and Ajda. A little while later we all head up to the 14th floor where the event was being held. We received a warm welcome and were seated in a big conference room. Every single chair had a little La Roche-Posay goodie bag sitting on it, which of course made us all feel very excited. :)

We then had the pleasure of listening to different experts speaking about acne/problem skin. Prof.dr.sc. Meri Tadinac explained the psychological aspect of acne and how much damage they can actually cause to a person suffering from them - low self esteem, troubles with social interaction and much, much more. I though that was a really important part and something everyone should hear, weather they're suffering from acne or not.
Next up was dr.med. Vesna Tlaker Žunter. She covered the medical 'part' of treating acne and showed us all the different types of acne, which to be totally honest, I didn't even know existed. When I saw some of the pictures of people suffering from acne and the state their skin was in I was really shocked. Fortunately I never really had huge problems with my skin, actually now that I think about it, my skin is pretty darn good. :) Even as a teenager I didn't have acne, a breakout here and there was pretty much it. But, a few years ago when I went off the pill, my skin started to act up and I did start to notice hormonal breakouts/acne on my chin, along my jaw, behind my ears and even on my neck and shoulders. This was quite a shock for me since I never really experienced anything like that before. Fortunately my skin has improved dramatically over the past 2 years and is now almost back to normal. I do still experience hormonal breakouts and I really don't think you can prevent them completely, but you can keep them at bay or at least make them go away faster, so I was really excited to try the Effaclar 'line' and see the results for my self. :)

Last but not least, Tamara Tuđek and Nataša Kvaternik presented the new and improved Effaclar Duo [+]. I haven't tried the 'original' so I can't compare the two, but the main difference between the new and the old version or between the regular and the [+] version, is that the later has a new ingredient called Procerad*. This ingredient allows the skin to regenerate faster and prevents red spots and hyperpigmentation from accuring after the acne/breakouts have been cleared. That is of course a very important aspect of the healing process, because a lot of the time people do get rid of acne but are left with 'marks' that constantly remind them of the state their skin was in.
After we've heard all about acne and all about the new Effaclar Duo [+], we were invited to mingle and eat some delicious food (and I do mean delicious - there was even cake!). :) All in all I was super happy with the whole event. We got to listen and learn a bunch of new things about skin and acne and of course got to try out the new products that will help us fight them. I'm testing both of these products out right now, so be expecting reviews soon.
here's what we got in our goodie bags :) |
You can get Effaclar Duo [+] at your local pharmacy for around 14 €, which I think is a great price for a product like this. :)
What are your thoughst on La Roche-Posay as a brand - do you use any of their products? Have you tried Effaclar Duo [+] yet?
Izgleda kot luštna predstavitev. :-) Meni je LRP kot znamka všeč, Cicaplast linijo očitno že kar zbiram. :-D
