Hello darlings! Today I'm finally reviewing another gorgeous cream from Antipodes - the Vanilla Pod Hydrating day cream. If you read my blog regularly, you know I'm absolutely in love with my Avocado Pear night cream... well, this one is no different, I love it just as much. :)
Like all (or most) Antipodes products, this cream also smells absolutely heavenly. Whilst the Avocado Pear night cream smells like sandalwood, this cream smells almost exactly like the Aura Manuka Honey mask but a tiny bit warmer perhaps? I feel like I can smell a bit more citruses, freshens in the mask and a bit more vanilla and something warmer, spicier in this cream (cinnamon maybe?). In any way... it is a heavenly scent indeed and makes using this cream a real pleasure.
I've been using it for well over a month now and I am in love. It's a very rich cream yet it doesn't seem to weigh heavy on the skin and it certainly doesn't break me out or clog my pores. It's not quite as heavy as the Avocado Pear night cream, but it does leave me with a bit of a sheen so I can't wear it on it's own if I go out (if I'm at home it's fine, but I don't want to go out looking shiny), so I normally wear a bit of mineral foundation on top of it (Lily Lolo in Blondie is my foundation of choice) and I really love how the two work together. :) I have to say that I don't notice that much of an impact on the skin with this cream, at least not as much as I do with the Avocado Pear cream - that one does some serious transformation on my skin every single time I use it (makes it look super healthy and helps it heal really fast). But it is a gorgeous cream that intensely nourishes the skin and smells divine, so I really love using it.
I'm not sure how both these creams will work for me in summer when the temperatures will be sky high, but we'll see. I was thinking about getting the Rejoice light facial day cream for summer or perhaps the Immortal Natural sun protection face&body moisturizer.
I got this cream (along with other Antipodes products) on Feelunique.com for 33.74 €. Antipodes products do carry a pretty heavy price tag but as far as I've discovered they're worth every penny. :)
What are your thoughts on this cream or perhaps on the brand itself - own any products from them, would you like to?
IzbrišiNice review miss. This cream looks gorgeous...but I do like a light feeling on the skin...especially when temperatures will rise. x
OdgovoriIzbrišiThank you very much! :D Yeah, it really is a gorgeous cream, great for fall/winter, not so much for summer I think - a little too heavy probably. :)
IzbrišiThank you for sharing the love of Vanilla Pod Hydrating Cream. We love it because it is light but still intensive. It feel beautifully fresh and alive on your face. Let us know what you think of Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream and Immortal Face & Body Moisturiser. Love the love!
