Hello hunnies! After tons of makeup reviews I thought it was about time to talk about skin care again. Today I decided to introduce you to a face mask that I've really fallen in love with - Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask. :) I got this mask and the Avo Cocoa one as well, from iHerb way back in January. I've been using both quite a lot and I still have a bit of them left.
Just as all the other Andalou Naturals face masks, this one also comes in a lovely jar with a silver lid on it. It has a very interesting consistency - it's a gel but a very thick one, nothing like your typical gel masks. It actually looks and behaves more like honey than a gel, when you apply it to your skin.
To me, the mask looks and smells like smashed pumpkin with a bit of honey mixed into it. :) As the name suggests, it's a glycolic mask so it is a chemical exfoliatior. It is quite strong so I use it about once a week, sometimes twice if I feel my skin is really congested and acting up. I actually don't feel comfortable recommending this mask to people with sensitive skin. I have combination skin that's quite thick, so I can use this mask without a problem, but I think it would be too strong for people with sensitive, dry skin.
As most products that contain some kind of chemical exfoliators (acids), this mask is also marketed as a brightening product, but for me personally, chemical exfoliators help me keep my skin less congested, clearer and more radiant, I never pay attention to any brightening effects they may or may not have. :)
My skin really loves this mask and I can see a noticeable difference when I use it. The only part I don't love is the initial stinging when I apply it (it does go away after a few seconds) and the removal - if you let it sit on your face for more than 10 minutes it dries and sticks to your skin and can be a real pain to remove (I use my trusty 'face sponge' to get it off). :)
This really is a wonderful face mask and I know I'll be repurchasing it very soon. It's also super affordable and contains great, natural ingredients. You can get it on iHerb for a mere $12 or 9 €.
Joj moram jo ponovno kupiti, res je dobra :)
