How I deal with: DRY SKIN

13. april 2015

Hello my lovelies! Today I thought I'd share with you my top products that help me deal with dry skin. Ever since I became pregnant my skin has changed dramatically - I'm basically becoming a lizard is what I'm trying to say... :D No, but seriously... I did have combination skin on my face that kind of leant toward the dry end, but I never really had that tight feeling or dry flakes forming on my forehead (which is now fairly common). The rest of my skin was pretty normal and low maintenance and kind of still is, but I can't get away with just patting my skin dry after showering any more - I NEED to moisturize. Plus I intend to keep my stretch marks at bay (as much as possible), so that's my motivation as well. :) Anyhew... let's talk about the products, shall we?

Dove Advanced Hair Series Pure Care Dry Oil - This is quite a recent discovery and my hair has been loving it. I ran out of my previous shampoo and conditioner duo (which was a huge disappointment by the way) and decided to try something from the drugstore... Dove seemed like a good choice. :) Now, my hair isn't dry really, it's basically the same as it was before my pregnancy, but my scalp has become somewhat dry and flaky (no, it's not dandruff) and it itches some times (if I don't wash my hair for a couple of days). I do have very fine, oily hair, but this line works wonders for it. Both the shampoo and conditioner are very nourishing (for the hair and the scalp) yet don't feel heavy whatsoever and most importantly they don't make my hair greasier any faster that it normaly gets. :) I'll do an in depth review of both products soon.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - I'm on my second bottle of this heavenly oil and I now mostly use it for my breasts and belly - where the skin is and will be stretching the most. It deeply nourishes the skin but because it's a dry oil, it also absorbs fast and doesn't feel too heavy/oily on the skin. I also use it for my face and it works amazingly well, but now that my face is super dry I usually go for a richer cream instead.

Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth face balm - This face balm/cleanser was not a love at first sight for me, actually I was a bit disappointed by it. But I guess that was due to the fact that my combination skin didn't really need a rich balm like this and I just preferred other cleansers to it. Now, that I get super flaky skin on my forehead (and sometimes nose and cheeks as well), I can see it for it's full potential. It works wonderful at cleansing and polishing the skin, without stripping it any further and yet without leaving a film behind as well. I'm in love... :) Full review coming up soon.

La Roche Posay Nutritic Intense Rich - I couldn't have gotten this cream in a better time. I was sent this for review purposes and wasn't sure what to expect from it (this is my first LRP face cream, apart from the Effaclar+ acne treatment). Thankfully, this was a real hit with my skin. It has a lovely consistency, spreads beautifully on the skin and absorbs almost immediately, but leaves it deeply nourished and with a sort of a protective 'layer' over it. It makes my dry skin instantly look moisturized and happy. :) Full review coming soon.

Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm - The best lip balm for extremely dry/chapped lips. It does wonders for my dry lips and takes care of them basically over night. I can have dry, red, even burning lips in the evening and wake up with smooth and plump lips in the morning. :) I also use it when I'm sick - for my nose, lips and any other part of my skin that gets super dry and red. Amazing stuff!

Well, that turned out to be a long post... I hope you've managed to read through it or at least found out something more about a product that spiked your interest. :) What works for your dry skin, which are some of your favorite products?

Me veseli, da ti je zdaj Balance Me bolj všeč :)
