NOTW: OPI You're such a Budapest + Polka.com

20. september 2013

Hello my lovelies! Sorry I haven't been blogging lately, I have a cold or maybe even a flu, I don't know really... all I know is that I'm feeling really sick. But it's getting better and I hope I'll be up on my feet very soon. :) Anyways... today I have an OPI manicure for you. I got these two polishes from my hubby (isn't he just the most awesome person ever?!). Hope you like it... I used:

Essie's Grow richer as a base coat
OPI You're such a Budapest (3 thin coats for full opacity)
OPI Polka.com on my middle and ring finger
Seche Vite top coat

I was drooling over Polka.com for quite a while. I first saw it whilst I was browsing on BeautyBay and then I went and checked it out in person, in one of our drugstores... and of course I feel in love. :) The price was pretty high, so I just admired it from a far and told myself I would have it one day. Then one day my husband was sick of  me looking at swatches of it on the internet and told he was going to drive me to the drugstore and get me that nail polish. I protested and protested (yeah, right) but then finally gave up and let him get me the damn polish (haha). :)

I was really happy when I finally got my hands on this beauty... but hey, I wouldn't be a nail polish addict, if I wasn't eying another nail polish right away. I saw this gorgeous combination of You're such a Budapest and Polka.com... so... on our 1st wedding anniversary he took me to the drugstore again and got it for me, along with another gorgeous OPI nail polish and a Catrice one as well (manicures will be coming soon).

I have to say I adore this combination. You're such a Budapest is just a gorgeous color that keeps making me look at my nails and Polka.com gives that extra something to the whole "look". :) The only thing that was a bit disappointing about You're such a Budapest, is that it's quite sheer. The first layer is really streaky and well, sheer. The second layer makes it better, but only the third layer makes it look perfect. I can totally live with that though, because I just love the color.

Polka.com is also gorgeous - love the shape and colors of the glitter. I didn't have any trouble with the application - of course, like with all more 'chunky' glitter polishes, you get a bit more glitter in some places and a bit less in others, but I don't mind that at all.

Oh, I'm also really loving the Seche Vite top coat so far, it's really helping with the staying power and chipping. I was doing some heavy duty dish washing and cleaning and only the tips have some wear. :)

So, what do you think of this manicure? Do you own any of these two polishes? Which is your favorite OPI nail polish?
